Description
The Air 5 Green Bean 2022 pays homage to the original 2006 colorway with a reflective finish that illuminates in the dark when exposed to light. This May 2022 release faithfully recreates the iconic design of the original sneaker. The shoe’s grey synthetic upper is enhanced with a reflective treatment, inspired by Tinker Hatfield’s original sketch for the Air 5. It is said that Hatfield initially intended for the shoe to have a fully reflective upper but decided against it before its production in 1990. The modern Green Bean iteration retains its distinctive features, including vibrant neon green accents on the interior lining, sharktooth detailing on the midsole, and embroidered Jumpman logos on the silver reflective tongue and heel. Translucent mesh is used on the sides and lower tongue to complete the shoe’s contemporary look. The Air 5 Green Bean is set to release on May 28, 2022.
