Description
The Air 5 Low Doernbecher 2022 is a special edition of Michael fifth signature shoe, designed by patient Michael Wilson as part of Nike’s Doernbecher Freestyle series. This collaborative collection brings together Nike and the Doernbecher Children’s Hospital in Portland, Oregon, allowing children to create their own unique colorways for their favorite Air shoes. In this case, it is Michael Wilson’s version of the Air 5 Low.
Michael Wilson drew inspiration from his interests in airplanes, sharks, and mac and cheese to create a vibrant and playful design. The upper of the shoe features a multicolor combination of different suede panels, with the toe area showcased in Royal Blue and adorned with a debossed macaroni print. Underneath the translucent netting on the side, an eye design can be seen, adding a touch of intrigue to the shoe’s aesthetics.
On the lateral side of the heel, the words “Take Flight” are embroidered, reflecting Michael Wilson’s passion for airplanes. Additionally, a red Jumpman logo with MDW branding, which represents Michael’s initials, is featured on the heel, adding a personal touch to the design.
