The rich sporty blue shade has always been closely linked to the iconic legacy of Air footwear. Although this color doesn’t align with Michael uniforms at the University of North Carolina or the Chicago Bulls, it has played a significant role in the origin story of Air sneakers, starting with the Air 1 and continuing beyond. One notable shoe that established this hue’s importance in the history of Air is the Air 3, particularly the True Blue edition.

The True Blue Air 3 cemented the sporty blue shade as one of the most significant colors in the chronicles of Air sneakers. This is why new iterations like the Air 3 Racer Blue feel like a natural progression. These shoes were released on July 10th, 2021 and feature white tumbled leather uppers, complemented by grey accents. A unique twist to the design is the introduction of a new style of reflective elephant print on the toe-box and heel.

To distinguish itself from the original Air 3s, the Racer Blue version incorporates the Jumpman logo on the heel, as the “Air” branding is typically reserved for the original models, special editions, and collaborations.
